Agility Training

ABBA Dogs Agility Training is located in Livermore, California. The training yard is 115’ x 75’ and fully fenced. All equipment is safe and built to either AKC or USDAA specifications.

Lorie Abbott has 40 years’ experience training dogs with the past 23 years concentrating in agility training and competition.

Clicker training, positive reinforcement and toy play are the primary training methods used. Food, toys, play and praise are used to reward the dogs. Before registering for class dogs should know the basic commands of: sit, down, stay and come when called. All other commands and obstacles will be taught in class.

Classes are 60 minutes in duration and limited to a maximum of 7 dogs per class. The class fee is $20/week payable in advanced on the first week of each month. These are not drop in classes. Students must register for a specific class day and time.

Class Times:
Monday 7:00 pm Beginner Dogs – space available
Tuesday 9:00 am Competition Level – space available
Tuesday 10:00 am Beginner Dogs – space available
Wednesday 7:00 pm Competition Level – class is full
Thursday 9:00 am – Competition Level – space available

Private lessons are available by appointment Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and on the rare weekend when Lorie is not competing. The cost is $75/hour.

Your dog should be on a flat buckle or quick release collar. No “choke chains”, or pinch collars. If you feel your dog needs to be on a pinch collar or electronic collar this can be discussed individually. Dogs should be on a 4’ or 6’ leash.  Bring to class each week your dog’s favorite treats, toys, bowl and water, notebook and pen or pencil. In the beginning, lots of treats will be used to train the dogs so do not feed your dog on class day. The first week of class you will be given clickers and receive instruction on the clicker method of training.  Bring your clicker to class each week.
